Bikashita Gaon Bikashita Odisha (BGBO Umbrella Scheme)

Odisha is a land of rich culture, natural beauty, and untapped potential. With its lush green landscapes, historic landmarks, and vibrant traditions, Odisha has the foundation to become a beacon of sustainable development. In order to boost the rural infrastructure to enhance the quality of life and for holistic development of the State, the State Government has been pleased to launch a new umbrella scheme called “Bikashita Gaon Bikashita Odisha” (ବିକଶିତ ଗାଁ ବିକଶିତ ଓଡ଼ିଶା).

The BGBO Umbrella scheme focuses on addressing critical gaps in rural development through sustainable projects, promoting inclusive growth, and contributing to the broader objective of a developed Odisha.

Infrastructure Development

Infrastructure Development

  • Development of inter and intra-village roads(Construction of roads, bridges, culverts etc.) to connect unconnected villages in PVTG, Naxal-dominated, and remote hilly areas.
  • Implementation of blacktop and cement concrete roads.
  • Up gradation of roads in reserve forest/forest areas.
  • Standalone cross-drainage works with necessary approach roads to be included based on requirements.
Provision of civic assets and amenities

Provision of civic assets and amenities

  • Construction of Bhoga Mandapa, Kalyana Mandap, Community Centers, Bhagabata Tungi, and Cultural Centers.
  • Provision of toilets and water supply near places of worship through Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) and Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), wherever required.
Improvement of infrastructure for education

  • Construction of additional classrooms.
  • Modernization and expansion of existing school infrastructure.
  • Construction of library buildings in schools.

Development of playgrounds, volleyball courts, and basketball courts within high school/college premises to serve as community assets beyond school hours.
